Hi, I'm pretty new to photography, and I'm really starting to like it. I've decided to upgrade from my small, digital camera to a more professional SLR digital. I like to take pictures of nature, people, and everyday things. I don't use zoom too often but I'd like a good one if possible. Focus isn't needed but would be greatly appreciated as I like to use it with my nature shots. Which of the cameras below is the better choice for me, which can suit my liking?

Nikon Coolpix L110 Black 12MP Digital

or

Kodak Easyshare Z981 Black 14MP Digital

They are both in my preferred price range and if you could tell me which would be better for me I'd so greatly appreciate it and reward the best answer with ten pts.
I understand these may not be the best cameras but I'm asking which one would be better altogether and for me... Unfortunately they are the only nice SLR cameras that I can afford which have the features I want. I just don't know which one has more

Well i recorded a video on my new Nikon Coolpix S8000 and i can hear a high pitch whine and a fuzzy noise in the background? Click Here is where the video is-you can only hear it when you use the 720p youtube function...but i can hear it on my camera and computer before i uploaded it. Is my camera defective? should I return it? Also the speak on the camera is really quiet and i could not hear a word from the TV when the mic was right on the speaker? Help.

Whenever I first tried to upload photos onto my laptop, the laptop said something about not being able to recognize where the pictures were coming from and told me to select a program that they could come from so they could be uploaded. I selected paint. And now everytime I upload the pictures, they won't show when I got to My Computer and click on D40. I've reset my camera and I've changed the USB setting on it also. I've even tried putting in a different memory card. The pictures that were already ON the memory card sho up but the ones that I take with my beloved D40 show up as I white picture with an icon in the middle. I double click them and it saves them into my pictures. I click them once they have been saved into My Pictures and they open with Paint and are about two inches wide. I've tried resizing them but they get all pixelated and what not. I've tried clicking "Open With" when I click on them in My Pictures but nothing really comes up. I can't even look at the pictures I take on my Nikon D40 when I put the memory card in my Canon Elf. But I can view the pictures I take on my Canon Elf on my D40. I've tried EVERYTHING!! But nothing works. It won't even show thumbnails when I click Start, My Computer, D40, it shows that white picture with the icon and saves it super small and only opens it with paint. Also, when I first plug in the camera, that little pop up thing comes up like it does with all cameras with a bunch of methods to view your pictures or download them to your pc with, when I click those it says "No pictures are to be found". Like I said, I've reset my camera, changed the USB setting from MTP/PTP (M/P) to. (MSC) Mass Storage! And it doesn't do ANYTHING I've deleted all the pictures on the 2GB memory card and put it in my camera and have taken more pictures on it, tried to upload them and they still do the stupid paint thing. Please help. I was so excited to get this camera I got good grades for a while then got it as a reward and now I can't even look at the pictures on my laptop or develope them from it. I'm so sad. Also my computer whizzzz boyfriend tried to fix it but he also failed at it. Pleeeeaaassseee help me camera an PC people.
Anndddd I've already tried plugging in one of those things that you plug memory cards into up to my laptop. But it doesn't work either. And I don't have a section to plug my memory card into. So that doesn't work.
ANDDDDD I bought it from Craigslist and the guy I got it from didn't have the manual.

i'm going to be buying a nikon d60 and it comes with a 18-55mm VR lens. i am of course a beginner and this will be my first camera, what does that lens mean and what will it do the the photograph? thanks

does a camera die on you or will it only get damaged from use? I'm going to buy a Nikon D60 from ebay and they're quite expensive and i want to know if i can keep it for a while before it breaks..?

I understand that I can use older pentax lenses for my K-x, I am trying to find information on whether or not I can use other lenses ex. Nikon and/or Canon lenses with my camera.

Information with a source would be greatly appreciated.

Simple question. Which of these two cameras would you chose bearing in mind the price?

I'm into photography and I own a Nikon D60 as well as a small point and shoot Olympus camera that just recently broke (I dropped it) I've been looking to replace the smaller camera with something that can take great pictures both underwater and on land. Does anyone have any suggestions? Preferable under $300 please! Thanks
